Swedish Room has long enjoyed the personal touch and experience of meeting its clients face-to-face and showcasing its unique variety of high-end Swedish Antiquities and accessories. Although, in our opinion, the best and most satisfying way for us to get to know our clients was through our showroom, we've decided to close our showroom and focus on expanding our footprint by offering our clients a way to browse through our catalogs in the comfort of their homes and offices. The Swedish Room website is currently under reconstruction and will soon be online with our new look and feel.
Below were the closing remarks from founder Suzanna Havden Bell on the closing of our store location.
-----
Swedish Room was founded in January of 2000 and has been "my life" and "true passion" ever since.
I have loved being surrounded by beautiful things that remind me of my home country and I have been fortunate to have a thriving interior design business.
However, the more design projects I've been assigned, the more of a challenge it has been for me to give my showroom the support and attention it needs.
I've been struggling with the dilemma of what to do with the showroom, as it's so close to my heart and hard to let go of. Balancing family and career is a struggle, never feeling sufficient in either place.
Around Thanksgiving my husband and I will welcome our third son. My Swedish stubbornness aside, I have to admit to myself that I have to make a choice between the showroom and the interior design business.
As my true passion is to "SKAPA" (to create), I am keeping the interior design and staging business.
So it is with this letter I want to say "Goodbye", hopefully "Pa Aterseende" and "Thank You" to everyone who supported me during all these years.
The showroom will be closed but Swedish Room will still be alive online, so this is not the end of Swedish Room but just a change.
Estimated closing date is by the end of September and we are presently selling our inventory at drastically discounted prices.
(You may contact us directly for a catalog or download from the links below.) We are planning a "Farewell Party" on September 15th, so please mark your calendars.
The details will be posted on our website, so make sure to bookmark us www.swedishroom.com and come back and visit us a little closer to that date.
As a side note, I want to mention that should anyone be interested in entering this business and would like to discuss potential ownership of the showroom
part of the business please contact me at your earliest convenience to discuss interests.
It's a great opportunity for someone who has a passion for and desire to work with Swedish design, and the time to devote to it.
Thanks again, and hope to see you in the showroom one last time!
